I wanted to use as much tape as possible, so I recorded a drone onto a reel-to-reel player, then played it back at 3 different speeds on 3 tracks. I loved how out of tune it was.

I used a mixture of pedals to record orchestral sounding noises with Attack/Decay pedal and also micro loops with MOOD, then recorded that onto a different R2R and played it back through my interface.

I just cobbled some dictaphone recordings in with all of that along with some found sound from other R2R tapes. A mixture of taps/noises made up the rest of the tracks so I made it to 10.
Part 2 helped me enormously, as I removed two of the three reel to reel recording and other superfluous stuff, which made part 1 a cluttered mess, but managed to retain enough stuff to make it sound half decent.
