I decided to give an old sample library, called Dark Era, a spin for this one, as it's a collection of acoustic instrument recording perfectly suited for a ton of layering. I won it in a charity auction a while back but never got around to using it, until now. Drums were from a drum machine sample set in Superior Drummer 3 to give it a bit of an electronic edge, further emphasized by using u-he Repro-1 for the bass and screaming drone. Throat singing vocals were also given an electric spin with some pitch-shifted delay.

I was in for a bit of a shock when part 2 was announced, as the whole point of my track was complex layering to give weight to the track.
That was all gone, and even worse, the first track I recorded was the drum
machine track that was the backbone of the buildup. So that was completely gone now. I ended up opting for a super minimal version with no percussion at all. Definitely a different vibe.
